How To Reduce Your Home Insurance Premium

Your rating: None
In these days of financial hardship, we all want to save money whenever we can and often it is possible to lower our home insurance when the next renewal date comes around:
Buy your home and car insurance from the same company, since many insurance companies offer discounts if you buy more than one policy from them.
If you haven’t made any claims in the past few years, ask your insurance advisor if it’s possible to get a ‘no claims bonus’ on your home insurance.
Lower your premium by increasing your voluntary excess – although some cheaper policies have a mandatory excess built in to keep the costs down.
Many policies offer a standard insurance that appears to cover everything, but you may be paying for more than you need.
Before your home insurance comes up for renewal it will pay you to shop around and ask the right questions about the cover you require. Don’t leave things to the last minute to decide.
