How To Submit a 'How To' Guide

Your rating: None
The 'How To' guides are good fun to write and you don't need to be a professional writer, or an expert in a particular field to submit one. If you are a visitor to this site and would like to submit a guide, here's how to do it.
What you'll need:
Computer
1:
Firstly, you will need to register with the site. From the Home page, click on the tab ‘Write For Us’ and read the information there, then click on the link at the foot of the page ‘Click here to apply’ Complete all relevant fields and them submit the form.
2:
This will, in a little while, generate an email to you advising you whether or not you have been accepted for registration. If you have, it will give you a link to a page which will allow you to set your own username and password. Once you have done that, you are registered with the site and will have your own profile page.
3:
Whilst you are waiting for the email to arrive, read the ‘Submission Guidelines’ which are also found at the foot of the page ‘Why Write for Us’
4:
Once you have read the information, and completed registration, you can write your guide. You may find it helpful to write the guide as a ‘Word’ document first, so that you can save it, re-read it and edit it as necessary
5:
When you’re happy with your guide, go to your Profile page and click on the link on the right-hand side ‘Create Content’. Click the option printed in blue ‘How to…’ and this will take you to the template for the guide.
6:
Complete all the relevant fields and once you are finished, further down the template page, click on either ‘Needs Review’ or ‘Draft’. ‘Needs Review’ submits your guide to the Editors for them to decide whether or not to publish it, and ‘Draft’ saves it for you so you can re-visit it at any time and edit it.
7:
Once you have decided which you want to do, click the ‘SAVE’ button which is vital – if you don’t click this and close the site down, you have lost your guide.
8:
Expect an email in due course, advising you that your guide has either been published or not. You can check the progress of your submissions by going into your profile page and clicking on ‘My Content’
Conclusion:
Once you've done this once, you will enjoy submitting guides regularly!
Tips:
You may want to check if there is already a guide for your subject before submitting it
