How To Reset an iPod

As far as technology has come, it still suffers from the occasional glitch. iPods are no exception and can sometimes freeze and stop working. When this occurs, resetting is often the best course of action.
What you'll need:
iPod
1:
Resetting is generally quite simple and there are a number of ways of doing it. The first of these is to slide the lock/unlock toggle back and forth repeatedly. This often fixes a minor error.
2:
If the lock/unlock switch hasn't worked, place the iPod on a flat surface before holding the centre and menu button simultaneously for 6-10 seconds. The apple logo will appear indicating that the iPod has been reset. You may need to repeat this step several times before it works.
3:
For the iPod touch you should hold down the sleep/wake button until the red 'slide to turn off' button appears. Turn the iPod off and restart.
4:
If neither method has had any effect, plug your iPod into a power source. This often brings the iPod back to life.
5:
Allow your iPod's battery to run completely flat before plugging it into a power source. Do not attempt to turn it on before plugging it in.
Conclusion:
Glitches happen with electrical equipment and can often be easily solved. However, if the problem persists, you should have an expert examine and fix the iPod. Avoid attempting major repairs yourself, particularly if your iPod is still under warranty as this will invalidate your guarantee.
