How to perform a short football pass

Your rating: None
This is a basic skill for beginners in football, but if well mastered it can lead to good ball retention by you and your team, and lead to more extravagant passes.
What you'll need:
A football
A decent sized place to play
Someone else to receive the pass
Start with the ball stationary on the ground in front of you.
Select which foot you would like to pass the ball with.
Once you have selected, place your standing foot beside the ball.
Then bring your kicking leg round and make contact in the centre of the ball with the inside of your kicking foot.
The ball should travel in a straight line towards the other person, therefore completing the pass.
Now you can practice this skill and soon it will come naturally.
Practice this skill by bouncing the ball off a wall and passing it back each time.
Try using both feet to become comfortable at passing with either foot.
