How to multiply fractions

Maths involving fractions can initially seem very daunting, however once you know the methods it's actually not so difficult. This guide will show you a quick and easy way to multiply fractions. An example will be used to help you along the way.
What you'll need: 
Pen
Paper
1: 
Example: 2/5 x 3/4 = ?
2: 
Multiply the two numerators (top numbers): 2x3 = 6
3: 
Multiply the two denominators (bottom numbers): 5x4 = 20
4: 
This leaves you with a fraction of 6/20
5: 
Simplify the fraction if possible, so in this case: 6/20 = 3/10
6: 
Therefore 2/5 x 3/4 = 3/10
