How To make Toffee Sauce

Your rating: None
Toffee Sauce is so easy to make and perfect with many things, such as, ice cream, bananas, and sponge puddings.
What you'll need:
150g (5oz) light muscovado sugar
150g (5oz) golden syrup
60g (2oz) butter
170g (6oz) tin of evaporated milk
Measure out the sugar, golden syrup and the butter and put them into a pan. Simmer over a low heat for about 5 minutes, stirring all the time.
Remove the pan from the heat and stir in the evaporated milk.
Keep stirring until all the milk has disappeared into the mixture.
Put the pan back on the hob and continue to cook for a further 5 minutes or so. It is now ready to serve hot or cold.
There we have a lovely, stick toffee sauce. This sauce can be stored in the fridge for up to one month.
This sauce is delicious on bananas and ice cream with a sprinkling of chopped nuts to finish.
