How to make Beer Batter

Your rating: None
How can you fully enjoy cod without a traditional English beer batter to coat it in? You could, but you would be missing out! Beer Batter is very easy to make at takes no time at all. This guide will show you how to make enough to cover 4 large cods or indeed, haddocks.
What you'll need:
112.5g Plain Flour
112.5g Self-Raising Flour
1 Egg
Salt and Pepper
300ml Lager
A whisk
A mixing bowl
Add the flour and some of beer to the mixing bowl and whisk.
Continue whisking whilst adding the remainder of the beer.
Crack in the egg and continue whisking.
Add salt and pepper to taste and whisk.
Now you can coat your fish and deep fat fry them.
The batter’s consistency should be like very thick double cream
If it’s too thin add more flour, if it’s too thick add more beer.
