How To make Barbecue Sauce

A wide selection of ready-made barbecue sauces are available in the supermarkets, but they don't compare with this home-made sauce. This 10 minute recipe can be used to transform baked or grilled chicken, sausages or fish into a interesting meal that needs no more than a mixed green salad and baked potatoes to accompany.
What you'll need: 
2 x 14oz cans of chopped tomatoes with herbs or garlic
1 onion, finely chopped
1 tbsp black treacle
3 tbsp worcestershire sauce
salt and pepper
1: 
Tip the cans of chopped tomatoes with herbs or garlic into a pan and add the finely chopped onion, black treacle and worcestershire sauce.
2: 
Bring to the boil and cook, uncovered, until the mixture is thickened and pulpy, stirring frequently with a wooden spoon to stop the sauce from sticking to the bottom of the pan.
3: 
Season lightly with salt and plenty of ground black pepper and transfer to a large serving dish or jug. Serve the sauce warm or cold.
