How to make an Americano cocktail

Your rating: None Average: 5 (2 votes)
The Americano is a twist on the Negroni, a classic Italian cocktail. It was devised for, and named after the Americans stationed in Italy in WWII. The Campari base is sweetened with vermouth. The added soda water to make this a long, dry aperitif. It is the first cocktail James Bond orders in the first ever James Bond novel: Casino Royale.
What you'll need:
25ml Campari
25ml Sweet Vermouth (e.g. Martini Rosso)
Soda Water
Orange slice
Old fashioned/rocks glass
Fill glass with ice.
Add the Campari, Sweet Vermouth, and Soda water.
Stir, and garnish with the orange slice.
**For a longer summertime drink, use a taller glass and add more ice.
