How to look refreshed every day

Everyday in our lives we are faced with challenges that drain us sending the body's defense mechanisms into utter overdrive. This leads to tension headaches, aching muscles, restlessness, poor memory, poor sleep, poor nutrition and aging etc. The body's natural relaxation response is a powerful antidote to stress. Stress response floods your body with chemicals that prepare for "fight or flight" and when continuously activated wears the body down. Relaxation response brings the system into balance thereby: Increasing energy and focus, combating illness, relieves aches and pains, heightens problem solving abilities, boosts motivation and finally, productivity. When practiced everyday relaxation techniques boost feelings of joy and serenity. Anyone can reap the benefits of relaxation.
What you'll need: 
Loose fitting clothes
Comfortable shoes
A quite place known to only you, it could be a lake, the park, a secret location where you feel peace ebb around you
A technique that appeals to you
An ipod with simple relaxing music
A daily "me" time set aside from your woke schedule. This could be early in the morning or later in the evening
A mat
1: 
Relaxation practice: Set aside 10-20mins a day. Aim for 30mins to 1 hour. Don't practice when you are sleepy. Choose a technique just for you.

Deep breathing for stress relief: These are simple, yet powerful relaxation techniques which are easy to learn, can be practiced almost anywhere. It is a quick way to get your stress levels in check.

Breathe deeply from the abdomen, getting fresh air into the lungs, inhaling more oxygen:

Starting the relaxation breathing: Find your comfort zone: park, garden, a corner of your home. Wear loose fitting clothes. Take off your shoes. Have a point of focus Play relaxation sounds. There are music just for this. Maintain an observant, non critical attitude: don't worry about distracting thoughts that go through your mind. Don't fight them but ignore them.

Sit comfortably with your back straight. Place one hand on your chest and the other on the abdomen. Breathe through the nose and exhale through the mouth. Try to inhale enough so that your lower abdomen rises and falls. Count slowly as your exhale.

Close your eyes as you do this for at least 20 minutes. Now open your eyes and: See the sun setting over the water Hear the birds singing Smell the pine trees Feel the cool water over your bare feet Taste the fresh, clean air. RELAX!!
