Learning how to cook the perfect plain rice is crucial as this accompanies a variety of dishes.
What you'll need:
240 grams rice
360 ml water
Bowl of water
Saucepan
Hob
Lid
1:
In the bowl of water, pour in the rice and leave it to soak overnight or atl east 3 hours before cooking. This brings out the flavour of the rice. When soaked with water for a long time it makes the rice seperate and not stick together when cooked.
2:
Turn on the hob and on the highest setting, boil the water till it bubbles. Put the rice into the boiling water.
3:
Leave for ten minutes.
4:
Turn the heat down to the lowest setting and leave to simmer with the lid on for five minutes.
5:
Turn off the hob, serve the rice as you wish.
Conclusion:
While anyone can follow the basic plain rice instructions, taking extra time to soak the rice makes a great difference to the end result.
