We often get asked by new writers – of which we’re getting more by the day – where they should start when writing a How To guide.

The old adage that good authors write what they know about stands with Howopia too. Everyone knows how to do something – be it their favourite recipe, a neat DIY trick, perhaps something practical with computers or more subjective, such as dealing with newborns.

And you can place good money on it that someone else out there will be looking to get the knowledge that you have.
It’s always worth doing a quick search on the site first, to see if someone else has a similar apple pie recipe or metal-drilling solution. But even then, don’t be put off – writing How To guides is rewarding both as a practice and, of course, in terms of earnings.
